On 26 – 27 August 2017, the Royal Thai Embassy, together with the Team Thailand Offices  in Moscow, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, and the Government of Moscow  City organized the 4th Thai Festival in Moscow at the Festival Square, Sokolniki Park, as part of the series of activities to commemorate the 120th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Russia and Thailand, as well as to promote “Thainess” through different dimensions, including arts, tourism, as well as authentic Thai products and food.

This year’s festival was attended by representatives from Government of Moscow, Royal Thai Government’s affiliated agencies and representatives of the public sector, namely Thai Airways International Plc. Ltd.  and PTT Company Limited, diplomatic corps, business owners, press and friends of Thailand. The opening ceremony was presided over by H.E. Mr. Kriangsak Kittichaisaree, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Thailand to the Russian Federation, Mr. Evgeny Dridze, Acting Minister for External Economic and International Relations, Government of Moscow, and Mrs. Wanwilai Promlakano, Deputy Governor of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

The Festival was considered a huge success in showcasing cultural performances from the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, authentic Thai food and fruit stall provided by the Ambassador’s residence, Thai imported goods and Thai massage services from local businessmen, Muaythai training workshop from the Phayao Muaythai gym, as well as cultural workshops on Thai crafts and arts, including Thai desserts, Thai dances, Thai music and the Thai language. The Festival attracted more than 50,000 people throughout the weekend.​
