11. Non-Immigrant Visa - Others "O"

1. REQUIREMENT (Non-O) 

This type of visa is issued to: 

        (1)  Applicants who are lawfully married to a Thai citizen
        (2)  Dependents of a foreigner currently working or studying full-time in Thailand
        (3) Volunteers or applicants who work for a non-governmental organization (NGO)

2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

- Visa application form completely filled out
- Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months and a copy of passport
- One (4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant (taken within the last 6 months). The photograph must have a light color background with a full-face view of the person without wearing a hat or dark glasses and covering up shoulders. 
 
Additional document for each purpose of stay as follows: 
   

    For family member of a Thai Citizen (spouse/children)

            1. Copy of Marriage Certificate for spouse or Birth Certificate for children

            2. Copy of passport and ID card of the Thai spouse

                       (All copies must be signed by the Thai spouse)

            3. Sponsorship letter from the Thai spouse

            4. Applicant’s bank statement showing at least THB 400,000 or equivalent in other currencies for the past two months or proof of annual income equivalent to the average of THB 40,000 per month. 

     For dependents of foreigners currently working or studying in Thailand

            1. Proofs of family relationship i.e. Copy of Marriage Certificate or Birth Certificate

            2. Copy of passport and stay permit or visa of the foreigner currently working or studying in Thailand

            3. Copy of the work permit of the foreigner currently working in Thailand (if applicable)

            4. Letter of certification from the educational institution or employer in Thailand

     For volunteers or NGO officers

            1. Letter of certification from the organisation in Thailand indicating purpose of the volunteer/work programme, nature of the work, and exact period of stay in Thailand, coupled with a copy of ID card or passport of the authorised person who signed the letter.

            2. Sponsorship letter from the organisation in Russia or CIS countries (if applicable)

            3. Copy of the organisation’s registration

            4. Summary of the organisation’s profile


In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.
 

ALL DOCUMENTS IN RUSSIAN OR OTHER THIRD LANGUAGES MUST BE TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH AND CERTIFIED BY THE NOTARY PUBLIC. 

Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents and/or invite the applicants for an interview as deemed necessary.

  4. VALIDITY OF A VISA  
 
  The validity of a visa is 3 months or 1 year.
  The holders of this type of visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom
not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.
   
  5. EXTENSION OF STAY

The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

   
  6. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 
    Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Royal Thai Embassy in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy. Therefore, travellers are adivised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy to find out where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
