The Royal Thai Embassy wishes to announce that an online visa appointment system for individual visa applicants and accredited tour agencies is being developed. The online visa appointment system is scheduled to be launched from January 2018 onwards to facilitate the visa submission process.
Before the introduction of the online visa appointment system, a temporary measure to ensure that travellers can meet their scheduled trips to Thailand will be applied from 14-22 December 2017 and 25-29 December 2017. During the first period, the applicants with paid and confirmed air tickets with the departure dates to Thailand by 31 December 2017 can apply for a visa at the Embassy. As for the second period, the applicants with paid and confirmed air tickets with the departure dates to Thailand by 14 January 2018 are eligible to apply. The application submission hours start from 09.00 until 11.00 hrs. from Monday to Friday.
In the case that the applicants cannot apply for a visa by themselves at the Embassy, their representatives (i.e. relatives or friends) can submit no more than six (6) visa applications. This temporary measure is implemented to prevent non-accredited tour agencies and so-called visa centres from violating the rights of the individual visa applicants. Violation of this measure may result in a ban on the applicants to enter the Kingdom of Thailand.
The visa processing time during 14-29 December 2017 will be three (3) to five (5) working days depending on the number of visa applications received. The consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents or an interview in person with the applicants. Submission of false information and non-straightforward supporting documents may result in visa rejection and a penalty on the applicants and travel agencies.
