On 20 February 2019, Mrs. Monthip Upatising, spouse of the Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation, opened up the Thai Residence to the spouse of diplomatic corps in Moscow for a cooking demonstration of popular Thai dishes, namely Tom Yum Gung (Spicy and Sour Prawn Soup) and Gang Keo Waan Gai (Chicken Green Curry).

During the demonstration, a variety of Thai ingredients and food products which are available at supermarkets and Asian shops in Moscow were on display. Guests also had the opportunity for firsthand experience in preparing the tasty dishes. They expressed their appreciation for the delicacy of authentic Thai cuisine, beautiful fruit and vegetable carvings and warm hospitality of the host. Many mentioned that they would try cooking these Thai dishes at home too. Each guest was presented with a copy of the second edition of “Secrets to Thai Cooking” produced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand at the end of the event.
