8. Non-Immigrant - Mass Media "M"

1. REQUIREMENT  (NON - M)
 
  This type of visa is issued to applicants who wish to enter the Kingdom to: 
  1.1 work as long-term journalist or reporter in Thailand **For detailed requirements click***
  1.2 conduct or work as a film-producer in Thailand
   
 

2. DOCUMENTS REQUIRED

 
 
  Visa application form completely filled out  
  Passport or travel document with validity not less than 6 months and a copy of passport   
  - One (4 x 6 cm.) photograph of the applicant (taken within the last 6 months). The photograph must have a light color background with a full-face view of the person without wearing a hat or dark glasses and covering up shoulders.   
     
  For journalists and media correspondents   
  - A letter of reference from the headquarters of the applicant’s agency addressed to the “Director General of the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs”, confirming the appointment and job title of the applicant  
  - Profile of the applicant  
  - Profile of the news agency  
  - Evidence of the news agency’s registration with the Thai government or an overseas government  
  - The applicant’s criminal record, issued by the country of which the applicant is a national or by his/her country of residence   
  - Approval letter from the Department of Information, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Thailand

  For film-producers  
  - Letter of reference from the coordinating agency in Thailand  
  - Copy of the Thai coordinator’s ID card or passport  
  - Approval letter from Thailand Film Office, Ministry of Tourism and Sports prior to obtaining a visa  
  - an approval letter from Thailand Film Office, Ministry of Tourism and Sports of Thailand  
     
 
  In the absence of a required document, a letter explaining the unavailability of such document must be provided.
   
 
 

ALL DOCUMENTS IN RUSSIAN OR OTHER THIRD LANGUAGES MUST BE TRANSLATED INTO ENGLISH AND CERTIFIED BY THE NOTARY PUBLIC. 

Consular officers reserve the rights to request additional documents and/or invite the applicants for an interview as deemed necessary.

 
     
  3. VISA PROCESSING FEE (NON-REFUNDABLE)  
 
  80 USD (single entry)
  200 USD (multiple entries)
   
  4. VALIDITY OF A VISA  
 
  The validity of a visa is 3 months or 1 year.
  The holders of this type of visa are initially granted a period of stay in the Kingdom
not exceeding 90 days unless otherwise instructed by the Office of Immigration Bureau.
   
  5. EXTENSION OF STAY
 
 

    Those who wish to stay longer or may wish to change their type of visa

     The extension of stay as well as the change of certain type of visa is solely
at the discretion of the Immigration officer.

   
  6. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
 
      Nationals of certain countries are required to apply for a visa only at the Royal
Thai Embassy in their home/residence country or at the designated Thai Embassy.
Therefore, travellers are adivised to contact the nearest Thai Embassy to find out
where they may apply for a visa to Thailand before departure.
