On February 10, the delegation from the Royal Thai Embassy in Moscow, headed by Mrs Bantita Pichyakorn Virabutr, Minister-Counsellor, took part in the official events dedicated to the 85th Anniversary of the Establishment of the Kursk State Medical University. The opening of the International Medical Institute at the University was also held on the same day.
Mrs Bantita P. Virabutr together with the rector of KSMU, Deputy Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Tatiana V. Semenova, and representatives of other Diplomatic Missions in Russia took part in the opening ceremony of the International Medical Institute based at KSMU.
79 students from Thailand are currently studying at KSMU. All of them actively participate in the life of the University and achieve high results not only in the education sphere but also in sports and cultural activities. In the evening, the delegation attended the International Student Festival, organized by international students of KSMU. The Thai students have demonstrated the beauty of Thai culture by performing Thai national dances, demonstrating Muay Thai boxing and presenting traditional costumes.
The Embassy hopes that with the opening of the International Medical Institute, the number of Thai students will increase, which will further enrich the relations between the two countries in the fields of health, culture, and education.
